I just had one of those "duh" moments. I rechecked the length in mm. They're 50.96mm long. So I'm about 95% sure they're .308 or 7.62x51mm.

Thanks.

Most people see them as a curiosity. Some like me see them as a fun shooter (defiantly helps if you reload, ammo is not very cheap, and it has to usually be shipped. Reloaded ammo is dirt cheap). There's a few people who collect them too.

I just tried the bullet thing out of curiosity, and WOW. MUCH better. Now, the trigger is a little heavier than my 1911's. (my 1911 has about a 3.5 lb trigger on it)
I don't know about your area, but the Academy Sports near home (north FL) has Nagant revolver ammo in stock. It's at the service counter with the more popular ammo that they're rationing (9mm, .45, .40, .223, .308, etc.). I think somebody saw 7.62 on the box and ordered it thinking it was one of the more popular rounds.

That's a good looking stock. What type of sling do you have on your 700?

.30-06 has some ass behind it. My M1 gives my shoulder a workout, but my 870 never leaves a mark on it. Steel vs rubber.
