I am fortunate enough to not have that problem, the range i go to is 6 feet out my basement door. If i have someone scrounging brass at my range i have bigger problems to deal with!
Certainly mention it to your board, that so and so must have mental issues if they step in front of a firing line, perhaps they shouldnt own a gun!

Collect my own brass, never anyone else's without asking, getting permission. Unless it's against range rules, I'll pick thru the trash cans. But go forward of the firing line when the range is live? Really? I've never liked it when guys hang around the line and people are down range checking targets. That's a shortcut to something serious, maybe catastrophic. If a range plays it fast & loose with safety any kind of way, I won't be back.

Touching my spent brass is a damn fine way to loose a finger.

Here, in the boonies the range is usually wide open, 40 stalls and 2 or 3 shooters. We bring a tarp to catch the brass..makes it easier than picking it out of the thousands of rounds already ground into the gravel. And very very often if someone sees us picking up brass they offer theirs to us as well.

I think if I had been there, and there were a bunch of shooters like you mentioned, I would have suggested that everyone there rush out and police brass. Then we could have made sure he didnt get it. He would probablty think twice next time he saw you.

Well, what I mean is that there are plenty of outdoor ranges, but most of them require memberships.

We are very lucky in that we have permission to use an active sandpit. Even if they are working, we just check with them, and they tell us where we can shoot. "Just don't shoot any of our equipment" Which has never happened. And, "don't shoot into or contaminate our screened material", which has happened, but we stopped when they told us.

Wow prob some liberal trying to get shot so he can make a story to ban more firearms. I usually bring along a empty cigar box and every couple of rounds collect the ones i shot. May-b he wants to frame someone or something. NEVER LEAVE SHELLS AT A RANGE . !PARANOID!
