I belong to a range that you have to pay to shoot. They do have a "public" side which you pay and a members only side that you pay anual dues. Theres hardly any problems here but most of their work time is spent monitoring the public side.

At the range I frequent the most, all brass becomes the property of the club EXCEPT your own brass. Bottom line, you can pick up your own, but no other brass. It seems like most folks comply with the policy.

Today at the handgun line, I was at position 12 of 15. 13-15 were empty and there was a guy at 2. Two guys come and set up at position 13! They then got upset when my brass flew their way! You'd think with so many stations open' they would have been a little more selective. Anyway, their presence made picking up my brass a bit more difficult, so the range got a little donation of gold.

Albuquerque City range is good, normally the brass collector(s), will pickup their own and not go to other areas. The Albuquerque rakes up the brass; however, once in awhile someone decides to go pass the concrete when the range is hot - they get a talkin' like no ever and never do it again!

I would have asked him to wait till you are done. Given him a time frame. Next time tell him to keep his grubby mits off your brass or anything within 2 lanes.

I was recently at a range that had pull down cloth screens (see through) between the stations. You brass pretty much stayed in your area. I am going to put some kind of brass screen together to take to the range.
