I took out a new Kel Tec 223 for break in. She ran great. I was just getting her sighted in when a range officer pointed out that the ammo I had was steel core. Not allowed in fire country so had to put the Kel and the AR back in the cases for the rest of the day. But I’m quite content to shoot up clay pigeons with my 1022 . A bear custom trigger of course. All in all a most excellent day.
So Mr. Rock, did you guys finally finish off that tennis ball I left hanging at 100 yrds?
And thanks again for that care package.

The tennis ball did not survive the day, Jo. Turns out the .308 rds turn it to Swiss cheese without moving it around. It was torn to sh!t. Maybe we need to fill one with construction foam to enable some better resistance?
Did not notice if you had any malfunctions in the KelTec? They are great little carbines.
Too bad I gave Matt those two bags of leftover, miscellaneous 5.56 ammo. It was only about 300 rds but by the time your ammo was kidnapped he had shot it all up through his Stealth. It was all mismatched LC/WCC/PMC/Amer Eagle/USA and Guatemalan but would have been fine in your KelTec. It is always interesting to see how seemingly identical ammo can shoot so drastically different.
Glad you liked the care package, too. Who doesn't like freshly baked cookies?? I'll have some more when we make our next run. Maybe some brownies, too. We can make a day of it, head to my secret spot in the dez, and you can bring along that Husqvarna. And I'll see if I still have some .38 Super mags for you. I know I have ammo left over.
I'm planning on replacing the Meopta 4-12 on my .300Win Mag with the new IOR 2.5-10FFP, but probably won't have it done by the time we go. I'll still bring it, though, so we can see how the 7mm Mag compares to the .300WM at 1,000 yds.
