Do as I do and go through the Dallas PD reports. Look under Armed Robbery.

It happened again people. In Dallas another bad guy did a robbery. And the clerk could see very plainly that he was wearing body armor. This is becoming a popular trend.

Almost any body armor will stop a handgun round, thus the 'two to the body one to the head' drill we were required to shoot to qual. But the probability of a 'civilian' being confronted by an attacker wearing body armor is EXPREMLY low.
Hope you don't have any personal experience, but do you know what a .45 does to the body wearing typical police body armour?
It looks like protection is from the neck down to above the belt buckle. Don't know if it covers the side, which is also a critical area.

in the very slight, and i mean very slight off chance that a BG were wearing body armour, and i were to have to shoot him, and didn't see some rapid blood loss from center mass shots, a follow-up shot to the head might be in order! hmmmmmm.......yeah, he might survive the center mass shots, if on the off chance he were so inclined to be wearing body armour, i am pretty sure, the headshot would end his day pretty quickly.
