Five shots with Nosler solid-base 70 grain bullets ( The best )
It didn't like the 90 grain Noslers nearly as well.
I had a lot of the 58 grain Hornady V-Max loads left over. - I already knew that the gun didn't like them as well as the others.
When I got the gun in from the Savage custom shop, they sent a note recommending 70 grain Noslers. - They were right about that.
I ordered a stainless gun in .243 with a magnum-weight 24" barrel, in a thumb-hole stock. Since I got it, I've glass bedded it and changed to a tactical bolt handle. - Spruced the stock up a bit with some Tru-Oil, and polished the trigger-guard for a bit of bling.
