AR15 outing with an exploding Ruger!
I finally got around to getting my AR back out and I must say, I'm please with the results. Distance was 100yards.
Mid way thru I switched from Federal 55gr FMJ to Remington 55ge FMJ and while the change made me an inch high the groups got tighter.
My calipers are out by my press but I think we can all agree these are right around 1/2" groups which makes me happy considering these are factory loads.

Just one more. The wind picked up and pushed it right. They don't call it Windy Hill for nothing.
I also picked this one up a couple of weeks ago and got to sight it in. Other then the chip in the stock where someone screwed the sling swivel in it's in great shape and shoots just as good.

Oh, man...you tricked me into looking for the exploding Ruger.
Nice shooting, though.

And now for the Ruger. Super Blackhawk in 44 Mag. I was trying out some new loads of 11gr Unique under a 240gr LSWC(which is no where near a hot load) and on the 11th shot this happen.
Ejector rod housing shot right off and ended up down range.
Here you can see the screw still in the stud that should be brazed to the barrel.
You can see a darker color around half of the stud base which indicates to me that it's been working on letting go for some time. This gun was made in 1973 so it's had some time to work on it. Anyone here delt with Ruger's service department?
The RO was standing right next to me when it happen and he was very cool about it. He called the range cold and went down range with me to look for the parts.

Ruger has an excellent service department, although they aren't always speedy. I've always been happy with their service, except for the time they lost my Security Six and it took about six months to get it back.

That is a concern because I was planning to do quite a bit of deer hunting with it this year and if they have it for a couple months my practice time will be cut in half.
