Default 10/22T with Stalkingbear Trigger Job

Well I had Stalkingbear do a trigger job on my factory trigger. I received it yesterday in the mail and installed it last nite when I got off work. It wasn't a bad trigger to begin with, but now it is a great trigger. Thanks to Stalkingbear, this was the best $60 I've spent in a while.

I didn't have time to go to the range, but I live in the country and can shoot here at the house so I set up targets at 50yrds and shot. To take most of my faults out of the equation,I set up my Caldwell Lead Sled (everyone knows how punishing the recoil of a 22lr is!) so I could also try different ammos out.
I dug out 14 different types of 22lr ammo out of one of my ammo boxes and started shooting.

The temp.was around 78* and the wind was 10mph,but not an issue.

You will see that my 10/22T is pretty picky about ammo, like most rimfires. Some ammo shot lousy, some shot OK,a few shot outstanding.

All of the groups are 10 rds, shot at 50 yrds with very little time between shots-I've always been impatient with semi auto's.
I started to put it back in the factory stock to do this, but decided to leave it in the Boyd's Evolution. The groups would have been a little better.

Here are the 2 targets I set up.

The Aguilla Super Extra 38gr shoots very good in most of my 22's.
The Aguilla Super Max 30gr doesn't shoot out of this rifle.
The Aguila Golden Eagle Match Rifle 40gr shoots decent, but I didn't.
Federal Bulk Copper Plated 36gr always shoots like crap.
Federal American Eagle 38gr all my rifles like this stuff.
Remington Golden Bullet 36gr always good to shoot.
Winchester Xpert HV 36gr I'm not impressed with this stuff.
Winchester Wildcat 40gr some guns like it,some don't.
Federal Target Grade 40gr excellent ammo.
Remington Target Rifle the target says it all!
Remington Club Xtra just as good as the above.
Aguilla Super SE Extra 40gr excellent ammo.
Aguilla Super Extra 40gr shoots good,I didn't.
Aguilla Super Extra 38gr also shoots very well.

Nice. Good thing you used that lead sled or you'd be in a world of hurt right now.

I sent my trigger group off to Bear last Friday.

Great report. Good to hear you liked Bear's work. I know he really enjoys doing the work for the members here.

you rig seems a little picky, but there are some brands there that it seems to like really well. hopefully you can find lots of it so you can stock up.

all the 10/22 talk in this forum makes me want one so bad, too bad its just not in the budget right now. someday though, someday...

JBSHOOTS,I have over a dozen 22's and they all are very picky about ammo. That's why I have around twenty different types of 22lr ammo. I know what each one likes, and have it written down, but it is fun to show others that they don't like to eat anything. I just grabbed an ammo box that had 14 types in it and figured I'd shoot each one,and enjoy pulling the nice new trigger that Stalkingbear worked on.

CA357,I'm sure you will be as happy as I am when you get yours back.

Skull,Thanks.I wish I had time to go to the range so I could try out the new Swarovski scope I put on my Savage 110FLP,and also tryout some new loads I worked up for it and my AR's.

When you do get the time, I expect to see a range report all the same. Count yourself as being put on notice for that. LOL
