The Conquest has good glass and is a great hunting scope. They don't have enough adjustment range for long range work using the turrets, that's why they came out with the Rapid-Z reticles. Those reticles get very busy if you are trying to really use them. If you are going to use the scope for ranges/targets of 500 yards or less, the Zeiss Conquest will be fine, but I'd still get a 20moa rail to keep the reticle close to center.
For other scopes in that price range that do have the ability to adjust for longer ranges, look at the Sightron SIII or the Vortex Viper PST. The Sightron's glass is as good as the Conquest, the Viper PST's isn't as clear.
The Viper PST does have a few features that Sightron doesn't offer, but I prefer the Sightron SIII in the $750-1000 priced scopes. I have 5 of the Sightrons,so I'm kinda partial to them.
If you decide to get a Sightron or Vortex scope,PM me and I'll give you a link to a place that sells them at some of the lowest prices available.
