I am considering a Kel-Tec FRB 18" barrel (in .308 cal) and just wondering what to consider to top it. It is not for long range but want descent magnification at least up to 50 yards.

I am after good VALUE...something that is reliable but won't break the bank (like a Toyota, not a Yugo but not Mercedez either). I do believe in buying once and crying once so I want to avoid "junk".

If it matters, I wear glasses and I am near sighted.

Leaning towards the cheaper Redfield. Comments?

I'd put a quality red dot on it. I've handled one with a good red dot and they are fast, you can keep both eyes open when shooting and anything you put the dot on dies.
It allows you to keep good vision as to what is happeing all around you as with your normal vision, but gets you right on target right now.
No better sight for close in work.
