Sub $100 scope
I just found out that my scope on my 06 is dead in the water. It was a simmons pro hunter 4-16x40mm. So I need to repalce it in a hurry. with deer season rappidly approaching and the budget ever so small. I think I am going to buy a sub $100 scope and see what can be done with it.
So what would be your guys vote for the best sub $100 variable scope. 3-9 should do it I think.

I think the best value in that price range would be a Swift 3-9x40.
They are super rugged and clear with a lifetime warranty. Never had a swift fail on me or any of my friends and relatives that use them. They're mounted on everything from .22's up to 300win mag's and 7stw's.
A couple of my neighbors got rid of their Leupolds cause they think the swift is better .
I dont agree with that, but they are pretty close in quality for a fraction of the price.
A little more than your limit of $100 though at $109 shipped

I bought 2 of the Bushnell Sportsman 4-12x40 when walmart had them.
I have one on a Winchester 70 .270, a Marlin 60 .22, and my Flattop AR15.
I hold sub MOA on the AR, taken deer with the .270, and get out to 150-200 yards with the .22.
Try and find one.

I agree that Wfift is pretty good for the price. I have one on my .17 HM2, and it used to live on a .223 so I don't know how well they stand up to recoil though.
My dad bought me a Barska spotting scope which works very well and is clear. Not sure about their scopes, but would be in your price range.

OK just ordered a Simmons Blazer 3-9x50mm It was a total of $53.99 from optics planet with free shipping. Can't beat that price and we will see how it goes when it gets mounted on Stomper my 30-06.
