Strong scope-reasonable price range

Looking for scope/mounts for a 98 Mauser ........338; has a 26" barrel, cherrywood stock; want a variable.

Sorry about this; was interrupted while composing; here's what I meant to say:

Already have a dozen or so rifles, mostly scoped. Some have older Redfields, one has a Burris(T3 Light) because of weight; even have a very old Weaver K-3 on a pre-64 .270. Have had this barreled 98 for years , finally decide to do something with it; as stated it has a 26" barrel, cherrywood stock; it is an Elk gun but weight is not a primary problem. Reasonable 1-250 dollar range , I guess. Had the gun checked by a gunsmith and he says it is fine; just want to add a "boomer" to the rest of my rifles. Thanks
