Spotting Scope Recommendation Needed
 

I'm needing to purchase a new spotting scope for the range to replace my 1974 Bushnell that's just simply falling apart. I'm looking (with old eyes) to find some target holes at 100 yards. Any of you folks able to suggest one? My price range is $500 or less. I'd appreciate your input.

The leupold sx1 ventana has great optics for 299.99, the vortex is neck an neck with it same price, also the redfield is a strong choice very clear for 229.99. An with.those brands u know you get quality optics at great prices. I have a swaro an my buddy has a leupy gold ring he paid $1200, mine was 2500$ an only at the greatest distance can u see any difference in them. One of my drivers was lookin into a new spotter so we went an looked at a bunch of the he got the leupold sx1 ventana, very clear view

I have a redfield conquest I bought last year that was $315 I think. Its 6-24x180 and its awesome....a pain to set up in a hurry but if your shooting off a bench that's no problem

You are right Mike. The ziess at the shop is a conquest. The one I have here at the house is the rampage 20-60x60.

There ya go, I knew u were mixing them up, but have u compared them side by side yet, the only difference I can see is a lil more viewing comfort from the zeiss but not enough to make me add $1200 bucks to it.

Ya I have. Past 750 or so the Zeiss is clearer....a tad. We also didn't pay that for it. I bought a box of stuff at an auction and it was at the bottom of my $75 box......of hunting knives;)

I have the vortex nomad. Amazing spotting scope. When I first was looking into them I was a little skeptical, but now after a year, I couldn't ask for a better optic. Scope is clear and durable. During the right time of day I can confidentially say that 30 cal bullet holes can be seen on a shoot and see target up to 1000 yards. Plus you can't beat their VIP warranty

From everything iv seen vortex makes great glass all the way around.....especially for their price range
