Why would one want to detach the scope any way? Mount it and leave it. No?

I put mine on the smallest base and then used a riser to mount it. Isn't QD but allows you to go up and down without fighting the tiny mount screws. Mine is on the bench right now, thinking from now on I will either go E.O. Tech or a 1x4 scope with a lit reticle. Like the fact a scope still works with a dead battery.

That's pretty solid.. I'm going to keep this red dot with my irons... Period... In my opinion should I need to use my weapon in self defense.. I can hit targets up to 200 yards with the red dot... I have a 5x fixed scope that I could always pack and swap to for hunting and further out targeting... I have been through the eotech and magnifier process and it was just too cumbersome to warrant having it hanging off the side... I do like the Viper pst 1-4....Maybe next build
