Default Sightmark Red Dot sights.

I have been doing research to buy a red dot sight & magnifier for my m4. What do you guys think of the Sightmark ultra dual shot qd reflex sight? & the Sightmark 7 x magnifier? I've seen all positive feedback so I believe that's what I'm going to buy. But a second or third opinion won't hurt.

I had one a while back with the 3x magnifier. It wasn't bad for the price, but now, I'd look more towards Primary Arms

Sight mark. The magnifier wasn't bad but you can get a much better red dot for around the same price

Just go with a 1-4x scope with an illuminated reticle.

I didn't like the Sightmark Ultra Dual Shot QD at all.

Check my posts in this thread to see why.

"The detents on the reticle selector knob do not actually hold the reticle in a fixed position. You can hear the click when turning the knob but the knob doesn't lock into position. It can easily be moved a little one way or the other by touching it or even putting on the neoprene cover.

I knew that changing the reticle would most likely change zero and had planned to stick with one reticle after it was zeroed but it's not even good enough for that."

I would recommend a Truglo over the Sightmark.

Sight mark is mostly good for the money. I'm not fond of the sight you picked.

For around the same price I suggest Aim Sports. They make awesome optics!

Ok so it seems as if it comes down to functionality opinions. I have to ask. Is there another red dot sight that looks similar that anyone will recommend? I do not like the bare red dot. I like the look of it more than anything, but I also want a decent optic that will give me accuracy at the range & not go out on me in a few weeks!

If you like the look if an Eotech and the reticle of an Eotech I would recommend saving for an Eotech. If you can't do that them try looking at EBay for a Bushnell Holosight. Made by the same company as Eotech but without the armor. My wife has a used Holosight that has been running on here AR for 5 years or so. Should be able to find one for under $200.
