Default Scope upgrade questions:

Hey guys I'm sure this has been asked before but I'm looking to upgrade my scope. My goals are to shoot a decent group out to 1000m. I currently have a bushnell 3x9 non mil scope and I'm finding the limitations of it. Im working with a savage 30-06 with match grade ammo and have decent groupings at 500m. I would like to get tighter (sub 5") at longer distances. Tbh I'm just overwhelmed with the variety of scopes and don't have thousands to spend to test drive them all. Any info would be great. Thanks

stick to good glass for long distances.. leupold, swarovksi , weaver, trijicon... and expect to spend at least a grand.

For 1000 yards, I'd stick to Night Force, S&B, Swarovski, Zeiss.

For that distance I would look into at least a 12x or even 18x.

Agreed. Like the Night Force 5-22 or the S&B 5-25.

Go over to accurate shooter and read around . Maybe you can get some direction there.

as a general rule, you can't hit what you can't see. to see and hit accurately at 1000 meters is going to require good optics and good quality optics are usually not cheap.

Remember regardless of cost of your optics there are other considerations. Proper mounting of the scope to the platform will make or break the deal. Have the scope and mounts fitted by a rifle specialist.
