To clarify a little, because of where I needed to mount the scope on my Mosin while still keeping the rifle completely stock, I used a Brass Stacker scope mount, which mounts over the rear site, and still allows me to use the original iron sights as well as the scope. Additionally, if the scope were mounted any farther back, I would have needed to modify my bolt handle, which I didn't want to do at this stage.
All that, to say this: The scope is pretty far away from my eye when I go to line up a shot. For this reason, I needed a scope that had an eye relief of about 13 inches. Thats the distance from where my eye is sighting from to the optic.
