Default scope for Cody

Cody, I have a Nikon 3-12x42SF with BDC reticle on my DPMS .308. I took it hunting for the first time this year and shot a doe in Ks. at 196 yards. She wouldn't give me a broadside shot and since I had a solid rest I put on in the chest and it went clean through. I was very impressed. She ran 10 feet and that was it. If you choose a Nikon scope with a BDC reticle make sure you check out Nikon's Spot On website. Go to Nikonhunting.com, click on the Spot On logo and it'll ask you to register,FREE, then you can enter all your shooting data, scope, load, wind and get a print out for the corresponding distances for each BDC circle. I think you will be very impressed. This year in Ks. I shot 2 does using different BDC scopes. One was my first kill with a slug gun, 96 yards broadside. Take a look at it and let me know what you think. By the way, it fits right into your price range.

Please look at the dates on a thread before posting. This one is 1 1/2 years old.
Leupold makes a decent scope, but I've never seen one worth $2500. In that price level of optics, you'd be better off buying scopes worth that amount of cash, like Schmidt & Bender,U.S Optics,Premier Reticles,or Zeiss Diavari.

I'm not bashing you or your scope, but there are a lot better ones out there for that kind of cash.
If you like it,that's all that really matters.

LMAO i didnt see the dates ANYWAYS the scope wasnt 2500 when i first paid for it after custom turrets "bdc" , special coatings on lenses, and on the scope, ETC along with scope rings and lens covers and all is were 2500 was spent, and worth every penny, not sure bout there being much better companies out there the ones mentioned are all good or same quality Leupold isnt over priced like some others and atleast has warranty and awesome customer service, ive owned 3 of the brands you mentioned and Leupold after years of use offers best bang for you buck THATS WHAT REALLY MATTERS, lol touchy subject a couple guys could go on forever bout which is better lol
