Default Scope mounting length.

OK so I need a scope and fast. I am looking at a few but I can't find the distance between the Ocular lens and the objective lens bells.

I have having a long action. I need a scope that has at least a 6" mount length. anyone know of a sub $200 scope with that length?

It is either going to be a vortex crossfire or a Mueller apv.

Tango, I have an NC Star with 6 inch of distance mounted on an AR. It's a 6X24 and costs around $150.00 with lifetime warranty, lighted reticle, and side focus. Holds zero quite nicely. You may have a problem finding a Vortex that size for that kind on money.

Joe, I wouldn't mention "NcStar" and "Tango" in the same sentence if I were you.

I would get a 6-24x50mm if I had it going on to a varmint rifle. This is going on an old beat down Remington Model 30 express in 30-06. 100 maybe 200 yard shots is the longest shots this puppy will see.

I go with a 4-12x because I HATE with a passion 3-9x scopes. They to me are like a small block sure you can do good with them, but what ever you do to a small block I can do to a big block and get even more power out of it. What ever you can do with a 3-9x I can do better with a 4-12x and I don't lose much FOV to a 3-9x with my 4-12.

I have a little 2-7x32 Vortex Crossfire on my 10/22, Tango, and I don't think you can beat it for what I paid for it.

I keep hearnig things about the vortex scopes. So I think I am going to go with it and see how I make out. That POS simmons 3-9x50 will go on a 22 or something like that.
