What is the best or a realy reliable scope mount for a mosin? I bought a scope kit from big 5 and.... it blows. Moves around too much. There's a lot of different stuff on YouTube but not a lot of follow up reviews. Any advice?

get the short mount but you'll need the screws off the long mount

Remove the rear sight base. There is a 3/8 dovetail mount underneath. You can get scope rings to fit it. You would be best to put a pistol scope on it in a scout type set up. I did it to mine just to see if it would work. But I put it back to original because I bought a modern hunting rifle.

There is a NcStar scope on amazon that a few people have up on their mosins and have good luck with it. It is a long eye relief scope and only runs about $50.

I hang with a lot of Mosin Nagant shooters. I do not scope mine, but the ones that do swear by the "Darryls" scout mount. They claim it is the only one that will not rock and roll on you.

I put an aim scope which isn't the best but the mount fits good you just have to make sure all 3 screws that set the mounts elevation
