If your local WalMart sells guns and ammo, then they should have some scopes. For between $129 and $230 they should have between 3 or 4 Nikon Prostaff (variable power) scopes to choose from.
For something cheaper they should have Center Point, Bushnell, Tasco. All these scopes come in either single power or variable power with prices between $39 to $69.
For a pricier scope they also carry Leupold scopes, along with scope bases and all heights of scope rings for that scope depending on what front objective size you get.
Don't get anything over a 3-9 power magnification for that 30-30 because it's NOT a long range rifle and you'll waste money by getting a 4-12 power scope for that rifle. Keep all shots within 150yds any you'll be fine. You'll love that little lever action.
On my 30-30, I mounted a Burris FullfieldII 3-9x40 scope that has a Bullet Drop Compensation. I didn't buy it for the BDC, I got this scope because of it's clarity, brightness, quality build, and tracking repeatability. On my Marlin 44magnum, I use a Redfield Revolution(made by Leupold) 2-7x33 and it was around $129 and this scope would also be very good for that 30-30.
