Here's my delima... I have a browning A bolt long action .300 Win. Mag. I did have a BSA
3-9x50 (piece of $***). I killed a deer with it at about 120-130 yards and thought it was pretty nice. But when it came down to the nitty gritty, I had the biggest buck I've ever had the chance at come out on a power line at about 350 yards, that BSA just couldn't get my eye close enough to take a confident shot. What I'm looking for is a higher power scope that can accommodate my .300's ability at
300-400 yards and handle the recoil at the same time, hopefully with a mil spec reticle...
Anyone got any ideas?

I think a 3x9x50 is plenty of scope for that gun. I would look at getting a different scope. I have a Leupold in the same magnification as yours but it is to me better optics. If you would be interested, it is just like new and no marks on it at all. If interested shoot me a pm.

A Nikon Monarch or A Leupold in 3-9X50MM would be ideal.

You need a Nikon 4x12 or 4x16 your choice of some type ballistic recticle
With their software you can make the shot with some practice

I'm not a fan of big objectives, Nor High power. More often then not your shot will be under 100 yards. I went w/ a Weaver V10, 2-10x38mm on my 7mm Rem Mag. It has been very good. Ballistic plex reticules really don't work all that well. To much clutter IMHO. I have a strait 4x32mm on my 6.5x55, perfect for 300 yard shots. At 300 yards the game looks to be at 75 yards. The 2-10 is really good as I can stretch it out to 400 yards and beyond if I wanted to without issue and still make a close up shot easily. Target scopes and hunting scopes have very little in common.
