Default red dot vs holographic?

I am looking to know if holographic sights really have some major advantage over the cheaper red dots., info needed.

The holographic sight requires more battery power and therefore has a shorter battery life and can damage your vision if the lense gets cracked. They are usually bigger units. As far as any other differences I think they are negligible.

I don't have an astigmatism but have heard the EoTechs work better if you do. I like both equally but feel there are some advantages to red dots. If you want a good red dot look into an Aimpoint. I prefer the H1/T1
