Maybe he had the name confused, I just remember him saying "yeah man sight doctor is the shat" hah ...sounds close enough to me...what is that, a company?

Have you looked at Cmore?
C-MORE Systems - Red Dot Sights
I stuck a polymer railway on my S&W. It works well and the price didn't sting too much either. Also fairly light @ 5 oz.
I previously a had a Burris Fast Fire 2 on it, but I found it too small and hard to pick up quickly. Good optic but it will work better on my carbine.

Funny every one that I know who owns a sightmark says it is a good optic. Yeah you are not going to jump out of a helicopter and let it hit hard Abe still work like a eotech but it will take a ok beating and still hold zero. Every negative thing I have read on sightmark is about their night vision capable holographic one. I know guys that own both and they said they will save the money and get another sightmark. But to some they think it is all about the big name.

I will be putting a sightmark on my AR. Heck I have another cheap brand on my 308 and it works great.

Trijicon or EOtech. For a handgun, I'd give the Trijicon a slight edge, but both will serve you well.
