Default rail system for pump action

I am sure this has been addressed before but couldn’t find it in the search. I want to put a light system on a Mossberg 500, HD model, short barrel and wondering what would be a good rail system option for it.

Surefire makes a replacement pump with a built in light. Costs more than the gun. What are you looking to mount?

That is what I was planning to mount, a light. I will look into them.

You can get a better light for less. There are tons of ways to mount it.

If your 500 has an extended magazine there are some nice lights/mounting kits on ebay for $30 and up. For use on a firearm I would not use a rechargeable battery. Get a light that runs on CR123 batteries.

It does not have the extended magazine. And thanks for the advise on the batteries, I was leaning that way but unsure.

Black Aces makes a nice rail. I went retarded on my first shotgun, the only thing I still like on it is the rail. Or you can get a small clamp on one. imageuploadedbyfirearms-talk1391579078.070659.jpgimageuploadedbyfirearms-talk1391579090.871533.jpg
