thanks nathantc, i'll have to check into these items. i was giving some thought to selling my savage and buying a ruger M77/17, but after seeing your savage and how nice it looked, i might not do that now. another question, what is the trigger length of pull with that stock? my stock is way short and feels like i'm shooting a kids gun.

In order to use the range finding capabilities find out how far your mil dots equal out to then your lines SHLD be the same.

Example- mils value at 3.6 so put the top line on top of the target and the bottom of the target is on the second line down which tells you your target is 360 yards away. Its not totally precise but it will get you close to make a clean kill. When you bought the scope they shld have sent u a sheet of paper/grid that will tell you wat your mil-dots are equated out to. Hope it helps you

Oprey is usually really good about putting owners manuals on their website which you can find by typing into google osprey optics

what appears to be a Golden Eagle perched about 500 yards away,,, no i didnt shoot it (it would have been a very ez shot with this rifle) but it is cool to see one. im glad my phone can take such good pix threw a rifle scope.
