New Spotting Scope

I was getting ready to take the wife to work this morning and the Post Office delivery rings the bell, advised package was too big to fit. I thank him and wished a good weekend!

I ordered a Barska 30-90x90 Waterproof Colorado Spotter Scope with Full Tripod for $158.19 and it arrived in 2 days of ordering it! :D

I will span some pics the next time to the range, this weekend, week and following weekend are booked - Family in town!

I am itching to try it out. I did quick test and setup in the backyard, the clarity is unbelievable.

Now you'll be able to clearly see the bullet holes at 300 yards! Everybody needs a spotting scope.

Just bumping this to the top because I am tired of seeing that laser thread.

Will do! Will be running a test on it 5th of June. I am force by wife law to have no range time until then, with family in town!

Some good beer consumption will be taken place! :D

*BUMP*

So how'd the spotting scope work?

I'm curious because I'm thinking of getting a spotting scope to use for several purposes. I can never find binoculars that go out far enough for me it seems like and for the obvious reasons of not having to walk 1,000s of yards on range trips at the 100-200 yard range for when I'm shooting rifles and need to see where I'm hitting.
I was thinking of one of the cheaper ones with 90x and a objective lens over 60mm. The one I was thinking of buying along with my next scope is a Barska Benchmark 16-90x88mm spotting scope. There were a few on optics planet from NcStar but I've heard horror stories about the company.

The problem with the cheap spotting scopes is they get very dark at the upper ranges even with big lenses. I personally wouldn't waste my money of a Barska no matter what anyone says.

I like the Bushnell company and figure with the Simmons 44 Mag scope (24x) and a good $200 spotting scope I'll be well on my way in glass, what you fella's think?
I just have to find the right spotting scope from them now.

Took the Colorado to the range last month with its tripod, you could see a fly on the target at 100 yard range between 30 and 60 power (never reached 90), the vision was damn good. At the time was setting the 30.06 (Now need a serious pad for the left shoulder, rotator cuff & other issues), fired mainly the 15-22 and pistols. Buddy wanted to get a feel for a pistol. Loved the 15-22, might go with the pistol version for his wife.
