New Scope Question?
Just today I got a new scope... well, new to me anyway. I was wondering if anybody had in info or knew where I could find info on it at. I searched the web myself and eventually found this great site.
It is a Redfield 3X-9X Illuminator 800619 (thats all the info on it other than made in Japan low)
A friend of mine had this scope for quite awhile and just now thought about it and brought it over. I did enough research to find out that the company has been bought out and know that they are still fetching a good price on sites. I am looking for specifics like would this be a good scope to mount on my 1958 Romanian SKS that I am toying with the notion of putting a synthetic stock on and mounting a scope to it for a coyote gun.
If anybody knows anything about it I would be most appreciative and anyone knowing what it is worth or what I should offer him on it would help too!
Thanks in advance

Update
Thanks Cane for the help. I went to a large gun show today and took the scope along with me, overall consensus was that I had in my possession a really great scope that would last me a very very long time. However my plan to mount it on my SKS was met with shagrin and mostly negative criticism saying "that scope is way to good for the likes of an SKS"! My local dealer had a large table and gave me the same advice.
Luckily for me, I have a lever action 30/30 that truthfully I have not shot in way over a year that upon discussion decided that it would be best suited for that scope... Hate using such large calibre on coyotes, but they are just nuissances around here, so what the heck.
Come to think of it I did agree to go into gun store this week and look at SKS scopes... Boy they are GOOD salesmen! He He... Gotta love an expensive hobby and a mad wife!
Thanks again

I should elaborate a little that the SKS with the shells ejecting upward would constantly pelt the scope and could lead to damage... I could use a deflector, but honestly the range given an SKS the 30/30 would be a better choice for such a scope... I love my 2 SKS's so don't get me wrong!

Got my AK scope here:

I have purchased several items from this seller and they have never let me down. Price is right even with the shipping cost and shipping is fast when you consider its coming from the other side of the earth!
They have 30+ scopes listed. You should be able to find something that works and they won't dis your SKS.
I got this taclight for ~ $65 and I'm impressed. It's as bright as some around here that paid 2-3 times more!

**** eBay. I haven't bought a thing from them since their CYA move of banning the sales of anything that made a gun go 'bang'.

That spiderfire looks alot like one I saw awhile back at one of the local gun shops for about half the price! Ive honestly never done the whole e-bay thing before! Have always been an in the garage or in the field guy... mostly probably cause our kids are 18,16 & 12... so Dad never got computer time till the older ones got lives (!just kidding!) and I finally have my own computer! Thats something I havent had in years! My own cp!...without a kid on one of the others until its late and Im too tired to get on.
I really appreciate all your help
Im going to check out the whole e-bay thing looks like there are lots of deals on there, so its pretty respectable I suppose as long as its been around

I can speak for this seller. No problems and I have purchased several items. You do need to watch some sellers with low prices are offset with high shipping. Good luck.

I'm with Matt on this as I boycott any business that's even remotely anti-gun or buckles down in fear of them. The only online auction I use now is www.gunbroker.com .

Ah stalkingbear, our first disagreement. Don't go to bed tonight angry. Just do what SGT and I did, agree to disagree. Besides, with eBay sales on the rise during this economic down-turn, I don't think your boycott is having any effect.
