Remy,
I have a 700 Remington CDL with a Leupold VXIII 30mm 3.5X10 with 50mm Objective Lens. I used the Leupold MK 4 Rings in the Medium Height and they work fine. I like the heavy mounts and rings. The reason is I am sure if I ever drop my rifle or something falls on it while on a trip there is no worry about zero retention. Maybe a little overkill but it is like insurance and a piece of mind. I would say all you need is a good set of quality bases and Medium Height Rings. I like the scope as close to the rifle bore as possible. No Goose Necking Allowed on my rifles. You must have a good cheek weld to shoot accurately!
Good Luck and only buy the best!
