I have a BSA .22 Special on a Marlin 60. 3-9x32mm. It has been on that rifle for years. Never an issue. The Bushnell rimfire scopes are VG also. I put a 4x32 on my sons Winchester 190 and after trying it a friend put a Bushnell rimfire 3-9x32mm on his 190. The 4x Bushnell is perfect for the .22. You don't need a BDC on a one. I do have an old Bushnell 3-9x40mm on my A-bolt .22WMR. Great for headshots on squirrels or woodchucks at 120 yards.
Freedom is not free. The best of us always leave too soon.
You guys have given me a lot of possibilities. I have been at the shops around here, not too much inventory, I guess hunting season is over, but we do have a gun show coming up in a month or so. This gives me a good reason to check it out. They always have a good selection of different type scopes along with the beef jerky!
