Again....the man knows of what he speaks....and says it so well, in easy-to-understand terms.

And again, concerning my NcStar, I won't use mine because the reticle is wrong for my needs....I want just a typical fine reticle. In my opinion, the NcStar sniper reticle, while very cool, is going to be WAY too thick for me to get any precision on the target from 50 yards or so and beyond. $100 wasted is a hard lesson to take, but not the end of the world....and I know I won't make that kind of rookie mistake again!

But that's just me.

I will not sit here and downgrade any scope nor anyone else's choice of the scope they intend to buy or can afford to buy. There are times that we must accept the fact that we just have to live within our means.
However, should i plunk down the cash (thousands) for a guided hunt in Montana, Wyoming, or wherever else, I don't intend to risk my time, money and or luck on a less than excellent set of optics no matter the brand.
Then again, you can go back to the old question---would you mount a $89 scope on a $3000 rifle?
I won't bicker about it, but I know what I would probably do.

Default Ncstar scope.

Well I a AR-15 yesterday, it has a ncstar scope on it. From what I am reading, I need to take it off and get a different scope. I like the way it looks on my AR, what other scopes that look like it are good?

I have an NCStar holo on my AR and I love it, not a problem and $100 versus $400 for an EOTech sure makes a difference. Besides my though is when the flung feces strikes the rotating oscillator I’m sticking with iron sights anyway, but that’s just me I’m old school.

The ACOG scopes are somewhat similar in appearance, but you're talking BIG BUCKS for a good one.
