ncstar scope
I'm looking at buying an NCSTAR scope. I was originally looking at the mark III tactical series with sniper reticels. I was going with the 3x9 but then I saw the same scope that was rubber coated and had a laser on it. I was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with the company or the scopes. I know that my top rail and my bipod are mada by NCSTAR and they seem to be good quality. I just wanted to see how people like them before I drop over a hundo on a pile of junk. Thanks ya'll
Matt

Word of advice - D-O-N-'T!!! You WILL regret it...
Especially with a mil-dot reticle whose dots are so big you can't see the target. I would buy a Tasco at WalMArt before buying a NcStar!

Please reread this statement atleast 25 times before you waste your money on a NcStar.

mbpike - This is from a shooter that owns, shoots, and sells some NCSTAR optics. ONLY buy the top end items from NCSTAR and you will be well pleased. I bang the HE11 out of a Mark III scope on a 7mm Rem mag and it works great. I also use a pair of binos I can just leave in the blind 24/7 - works great. Do I only use NCSTAR - NO. I have Nikon, Burris, Bushnell, and Simmons. Own several brands of rangefinders, spotting scopes, rifle scopes and binos.
The bottom end and mid price NCSTAR items I do not use, The MarkIII 6-24X50 item # SM3RAO62450G scope is a great scope for target and hunting.
No - I do not have any of the mega buck optics in my list, burn too much money spending time in the field shooting and hunting. Have not missed them yet!!

See when I hold the optics in my hand they feel good and look like they have good glass in them. But I'm afraid it will turn out to poo on me after 100 rounds or so. I have found that the field is split. Half the poeple love them and half the poeple hate them. So I don't know. I would really like to hear from someone that has mounted and used the mark III tactical series.

Any company that can produce a dedicated AR-15 handle mounted scope with integral mount, where the permanently affixed mount is canted due to sloppy manufacturing, is not worth a sh!t in my book! I don't care what other models they offer! NcStar SUCKS and only stays in business by targeting the feeble-minded bargain-hunter's who think they are getting a deal, when in reality, all they are getting is "taken"!

You asked for opinions...I thought you were considering buying one? Did you buy one? If so, you'll see what I mean...they are NOT quality scopes. Buy a Simmons instead - they are excellent quality for the money - they will stay in adjustment, they have excellent anti-reflection multi-coatings, and their QC is miles above NcStar!
