Hi guys just want to know your view on mounting mu Bushnell on the savage.
Since i will stay in the 300 m range I think I should stick with the 0MOA bases.
For the rail I was thinking TPS XP Tactical 1 Piece Base. Not Sure what size/brand rings to get. Do you think the TPS Horizontal Scope 30mm Rings LOW (.925") would fit. Whomever I call on the phone recommends HI rings for the rifle.

I doubt that low rings would work with any scope that has a 50mm objective. Probably why the person on the phone was recommending high.

I have a Ken Farrell base on mine,and I only use Burris Signature Zee rings any more.I have Medium rings on all mine.

Great looking stick. What scope is that? If it is 50mm, it looks like there is still some space left. But i guess going medium would be the safer way to go. Some posts online are suggesting low rings with guaranteed fit. But no pictures to show.

If you are only shooting out to 300 m then a 0moa base is correct.

As for rings Low is not going to cut it for a 50mm obj.

Yeah, but look how the scope is a fraction of an inch away from the picatinny base. He can't go any lower. Something to keep in mind.

I submit that lower is not always better, depending on the person behind the scope. With my high, sculpted cheekbones (I used to model

), I like the scope up a bit. Many like the "cool factor" of having the scope as low as it can go, but it all has to do with comfort and the proper cheekweld.

Thanks,The scope is a Sightron SIII 6-24x50. Using a 1pc rail raises the scope off the action,and limits the ring height that can be used.
I have a 2pc Weaver mount on my 110FLP 300WM and using the same rings,the Swarovski PH 4-16x50 scope sets very close to the barrel.
