can't say i am the best shooter but i am a good shooter. I went to my local range and shot this target at 100 yards using my Remington model 700 in 308 win. has a bsa scope 3x9x40 mil-dot. i used my own reloaded ammo 150 grain hornady fmj 41.5 grains of imr 4895. It was about 67 degrees and about 10-15 mph winds. Wanted to zero my rifle and only had to use three shots. Well i can't say its all natural talent but good fundamental i learned as a Marine. I was once a pig but then i became a hog! Semper Fi ! Its more the operator than the gear.

I know it is more operator than gear, but o would still like a nice scope to top this rifle, I won't be buying a new scope for probably around 6 months or so, just wanna get some ideas

What you need to remember is cheaper usually means cheaper. If your hunting in the eastern mountains a Weaver V10, 2-10x38mm may fit the bill nicely. A large objective only works better if the lenses suck on a smaller objective. I don't own a single scope over 42mm. The 38mm on the weaver has served my 7mm rem mag for a few years very well. Take a look at one. The bigger the objective, the more of a profile you present.

If a 3.8-12x44 A.O. is OK, then check www.natchezss.com for a Weaver 40/44 aspherical lens scope....onsale for around $120-130, depending on reticle. Should sell for around $180 Plus. Own one of these, good glass in them and made in Philippines
