Default leupold bases?

are the leupold 2 piece bases good solid bases for a heavy recoil rifle such as a 300 RUM?

They will work. You would be better off getting a 1 piece base.

I would get one of these.
Trijicon Accupoint 1-Piece Aluminum Picatinny-Style Scope Base Remington 700 Long Action Matte - MidwayUSA

and a set of these.

Burris 1" Xtreme Tactical Picatinny-Style Rings Matte Medium - MidwayUSA

Just to be on the safe side of the recoil.....
