Irons sights yards or meters?
About to go to the range and shoot this SKS my new red dot has not come in yet so I will be using iron sights.
I was wondering if anyone knew what the numbers 1-10 were on a Chinese SKS if 1 was 100 yards or meters ?
Looks like this and looks like stock irons sights.

the --- is just a placeholder to keep the numbers on the right side how it looks on the sights.

On a comblock weapon it is going to be Meters I would assume. As even the US Military uses the metric system for this type of stuff. It is much easier to teach 1 meter 100 meter 1000 meter = 1kilometer. 100 meter squared is a grid square.

We zeroed on a 25 yard range. Pop ups were on a meter measured range though.
The Chinese stuff will undoubtedly be metric though.

Think that is confusing? Older Russian weapons may be calibrated to cubits- or as spoken Russian, Arshins. Which were standardized as 28 English inches. 
I usually go by minute-of-whitetail for hunting, and minute-of-bad-guy for pistols.

My problem with the SKS setup is figuring out exactly which notch is the 100 setting. IOW, do you want the selector bar under the 100 or centered on it.
