Info on Cf 500 bushnell scope
I purchased a new bushnell scope with the Cf 500 reticle it did not include instructions on how to use the reticle.I looked on bushels site but could not find a manual on it. But for a quick review of it, after I mounted it and tried to install the battery I could not get the battery cover open, I messed up the cover when I used a screw driver, I finally got two pairs of pliers to get the cover off. It was cross threaded from the factory. I haven't got a chance to try and zero it yet, when I do ill update on it.

The scope is crystal clear even trough 16x, and I like the fact the illumination isn't overpowering even in very low light conditions.

It's a typical Ballistic Drop reticle. You can email Bushnell, and ask them what bullet weight and fps they designed the reticle around.
You will probably just have to shoot your rifle at different distances to find out where each mark shoots at with your rifle/ammo.

I have that same scope mounted on a Marlin 917HMR. I zeroed it at 100yds for the center crosshairs. I haven't used the hold-over hash marks for it, as I use it for Squirrels, Groundhogs, etc but like Txhillbilly said, it for your standard loads. Just find the ammo your rifle likes, then experiment with the marks to find how accurate those marks are to your ammo. They might not be quite on at each progressive 100yd mark, but if you have a distance lazer, you'll know where those marks lineup for distance for your hold-over.
