Just a thought, A night vision scope converter that mounts to the front of an existing 50mm scope might be a legal alternative. With some ambient light a good quality night scope can be good up to about 200 yards. The only one I know of is the ATN PS22 Gen 2+ scope converter. With adapter it is about $2,000.00

regular night vision can see the laser, also go ahead and add a suppressor and you become pretty much undetectable especially if you use subsonic ammo. Why do you think the military uses them?

ATN now has GEN 4 night vision but not in the PS22 so I figure it is only a matter of time before I could get a GEN4 PS22 unfrotunatley that will probably cost between $5000-$6000

I does make you wonder. I don't have a clue why usmcdowney would need night vision, an inferred laser or a night vision scope converter and a suppressor. I do know that some ranchers in Texas and a few other wide open rural areas use them to hunt wild pig and coyote at night. Of course, they do not need suppressors or the marketing hype of the 80's, Subsonic Ammo.

Actually there is no good reason i have absolutely no need for them anywhere in the forciable future. So I guess the answer is because I can. Well not the infared laser part appartently but the rest of it why not?

you could always mount one of those game finder pro M heatseeker devices on your rifle, throw on your night vision goggles & bam!i was at a gun show a few years back...and was looking & bought a pair of NV goggles, the guy was telling me that night vision want see laser beams...but he pulled out one of those cheesey heat seeking tools and pointed at the wall and when i looked at it with the NV's on,i could see a white dot on everything it made contact with...pretty cool but...

Go to Ebay and search for "Invisiblesight PAQ-4".

Looks interesting, but it's made in Hong Kong........???

I don't know about the legality of such devices. Here in AZ, I heard it's illegal to discharge firearms after dark, so I wouldn't have much use for one.
