Damn,I guess I got it backwards.

I put a $2k scope on a $350 rifle,and a couple close to $1k scopes on $500 guns.

Hawg,Bring your $200 scope/$1500 gun to the 2011 FTF meet and we'll see what shoots better.

one of the best scopes i had was an old el paso tx weaver k4 (might be k12 not sure) 4x scope i bought for my winchester mod 70 african express in 458 win mag. i zeroed once sometime in 1988 and it held zero perfectly until early 2009 when the cross hairs finally broke due to thousands of rounds of big bore due to recoil. i paid i think 20$ for it used. best damn scope i ever had.

not all cheap scopes are bad not all pricey scopes are good. mleage varies.
Just wondering if the gun with the Leupold scope was also in the atv rifle carrier too?

well just keep in mind mileage on all things vary. i bought the leupold before i learned about the nightforce scopes. nightforce is a bit higher quality.

im happy with that mk4 but i wouldnt get it today if i had to redo. i think you need to go post in the optics forums for more opinions than mine. im not a scope expert

tango, my xcr compact is straight out of the box and shoots .1 inch at 4000 yards. you sur you wanna tangle?? with my broke 20$ weaver it shoots 1 hole groups at 5000 yrds

Where and what are you shooting 2.27 and 2.84 miles and getting a 1 hole group?
I think Tango was replying to Hawg. But I still want to see even the 4000 yard shot w/ an XCR compact!!! Give me an Abrams tank I might have a chance!!
