Nikko Stirling Diamond Sportsman Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 3-9x 42mm Illuminated #4 Dot Reticle Matte It has tracked perfectly for over 1500 shots. I like it. |
the Nikon Prostaffs are a decent scope that could be had at the upper end of your budget. i have had two of them and they worked good on two different rifles and were pretty clear.

Simmons 44MAG 4-12x44SF "Master Series", Bushnell Banner(might be Sportsman) 4-power fixed, Center Point "Adventure" 3-9x40, Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40, Bushnell Banner 4-12x40 Illuminated Reticle and if you have a Bass Pro shop nearby they have the Redhead(?)lineup of scopes, Clearridge(Weaver) scopes, just to name a few. Of course there's always getting a "Better Used" scope at a gun shop possibly or a Pawn Store. Just be aware that warranties might not follow a used scope--depending on manufacturer, but I've bought used scopes that were higher quality to get what I wanted and never used the warranty because of the scope's quality.

Check www.natchezss.com to see what Nitrex TR1 scopes are left. Nitrex and Weaver both owned by same company and Nitrex line was discontinued and Natchez sold them for less than 1/2 price. The TR1 scopes are very similiar to Weaver Grand Slams, made in Japan with darn good optics.
Have a Simmons 44mag scope on my Marlin XS7.....pretty decent scope BSA Majestic DX scope. Have several of the highest power model. Good glass and features. All of mine on 257R or 6.5x55 Swedes and have performed well for me. Google BSA Majestic DX for sale and compare prices. |
