Good $100-$200 Rifle Scope
I need a new scope for a Remington 700 chambered in .308. Thinking something 4-12 x 40-50mm. I'm trying to keep this project >$1000 total so after other accessories, replacement parts and gunsmithing I'm left with no more than $200 for optics for now. I've read good things about Barska, except that they can be blurry around 300 yards, which makes me hesitate. I'm fairly new to optics/distance so help is appreciated.

I'd recommend you need to look at Nikon Prostaff or Nikko Sterling scopes. Both of those fit your budget and are decent scopes for the money. I own several and they are clearer than you would expect for the price and hold zero/track just fine.

Bushnell Sportsman 4-12x40.

Ive got them on three guns, including my AR. I like them fine. They should be found for about $70.

Check here and see what you can afford.

Quality optics and accessories from Leupold, Bushnell, Burris, Nikon and more!

That is a web site from SWFA these are all demos and factory refurbs. I seen a sightron SII 3-9 for $99 that is a great price for that scope.

If you can squeeze another $80 or so bucks into the budget Here is a real good one.
Bushnell 5-15x40 Elite 3200 Riflescope

If you want more power here is a good scope.
Mueller 8.5-25x50 Eraticator Riflescope DEMO--C

I have picked up several 3 x 9 Leupolds Vari X 11 for $ 200 or alittle less when real lucky. I also believe that a 3 x 9 scope is the best all around scope you can have.

I have bought a couple from barska and yes the price is right ....however you can tell the difference from Nikon ...Trijion...etc.....However for cost effective scope it will fill the bill.....I put a Nikon 6x24 monarch on my rem 300 win mag and I am very impressed...but 700.00 TTL...Good luck

I have to second bears recommendation for Nikon Prostaff. They are a good choice for the money. I have two. Midway has a Prostaff 4x12 that has mil-dots if you would be interested in that for $175.

Nikon Prostaff. Go to Optics Planet. Bought 2 last year for this years up and coming deer season. $125.00 each complete. Beautiful optics for the money. Beats the Tasco that I used to have hands down.
