Well, as for shooting US weapons we don`t shoot them as we are just infantry.. we don`t use much of innovations, except your helmets made of special alloys that are very light-weight( usually used during the demonstrative trainings when some colonels come to check) and the Armasight night vision.. but I hear some Special Forces use sophisticated foreign weapon... most probably there are some of american ones among them. I don`t want to go into political issues too.. besides I don`t know much about it actually.. though I have to say that at our political information classes officers say that America is no threat to Russia.. we have another very serious rapidly growing enemy bordering us which we should be really prepared to fight with... I think you guessed who this is.. As for the feedback from my leadership it is ok.. we are just infantry.. we don`t know something other countries may not know.. I can go to any country on holiday without signing papers or anything... I respect the labour of a military of any country. we don`t decide anything... we are neither good nor bad.. we just do what we are made for.
It is only politicans who may be good or bad, stupid or clever..

As for 2500 $ that an american sgt gets I think it is not a lot for America. I thought they got more... One of my friends moved to America about two month ago... he got the green card and is going to serve in th Nato in an orchertsa as a trumpet player in one of the infantry units.. He said he is going to get 4 000 $. Gotta call him and ask again. Maybe I got something wrong.

I just got promoted from sgt to staff sergeant. I am an infantryman. When I was an sgt with 6 years in service my base pay was 2795 a month. It goes up the more years of service you have and obviously the more rank you get. But youre right. It isn't much considering the job we do.

Ok. thank you! that was my first thought about sqad leader. But in Russia it may be different but most often staff sergeant is a platoon leader.. something like an officer deputy( substitute, assistant) He commands 27 soldiers.. and squad leaders(9 people) are usually junior sergeants.
