Choosing a scope

Hello all! I will be getting my first new hunting rifle next week. (Left-hand Browning X-bolt Medallion .30-06). Any suggestions for a high quality scope. I will be hunting white tail and moose in north/central Saskatchewan.
Thanks!!!http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/firearms/itemdetails.asp?item=035253226&cid=035&tid=253

Bodzy81,

I very much like and recommend the following scope for hunting. Of course it depends on what you are planning on spending. But I am of the thought that a guy should by the best scope he can and then buy a rifle to go with it. I have two of the following scopes and have them on my favorite hunting rifles. I also hunt in Texas where there can be some longer range shots and they do excellent. I have used them on many hunting trips and they are two of the best scopes I have and very clear being 30MM Tubes.
If you have never looked through a 30MM tube scope I encourage you to do so before you buy!:)

Leupold VXIII 30MM Tube 3.5-10X
Model # 54912
Also has an Illuminated Reticle

03 is spot on. The top end Nikons are very good scopes as well.

Night Force and Trijicon are a tier higher, but also a tier more expensive.

A 30 MM tube is very worthwhile.

Thanks a lot for the help. I will look at the leupold model you have (03). I am also going to check out the Zeiss Conquest and compare the 30mm tubes with a 25mm go from there. I will let you know what I end up with and maybe post a picture.
Thanks again

I'm in the same boat. Tight money ATM. I figure it's best to save the extra bones and get a Nikon prostaff.

Look on armslist etc. bushnell banners can be had for $100. My friends use them on their deer rifles, and have claimed many deer with them.

I have to buy 2 scopes. Will have to see what comes up.

You can get a good scope, or you can get a under $300 scope.:p

Decent scope under $100? Visit www.natchezss.com and find the Weaver 40/44 scopes, then look for the 2.8-10x44 aspherical one....price is at $100.

Then visit Graf and Sons and find the BSA Majestic DX Hunter scopes. Graf is selling them for less than anyone else. Own three of the Majestic DXs and they've been pretty decent for me. Often go to to range with one of the rifles with a Majestic on it. Lots of rounds fired with my Majestic scoped rifles, with no problems. Grafs has the 4-16x44 SF for around $80, when others sell it for around $125. Lower powered majestics cost less, but not a side focus parallax.

Well my rifle finally came in. I got $50 off the price because I had to wait so long. I went with a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x 40mm. It has a clear view and excellent eye relief in all powers. Very satisfied so far. Although I have not officially tested it. The scope cost me $529.95 Canadian.

Thanks for all your help!! :)
