Bushnell scopes

I currently have a Bushnell banner 6x-24x 40mm scope on my Remington 700 .308 that i use for bench shooting only. recently i noticed they have Bushnell elite 3200's 3x-10x for 150$, and 4200's for 200$. should i try to sell my banner and get a bushnell elite? will i notice a big difference? or should i just keep my high zoom banner? are there any advantages of a fixed 10x scope over a variable 3x-10x(i would use 10x all the time.)?

Thanks in advance.

The Elite is light years better than the Banner.

I think that life is too short to use cheap glass, but picked up a 3-9x50 Bausch & Lomb Elite 3200 (Now Bushnell) in a gun trade a couple of years ago. Took it off the rifle it came on and tossed it into a box full of "take off" scopes.

Fast forward a couple of years and I had a milsurp rifle project that needed a scope. Dug around in the box and grabbed the B&L. Looked through it and was amazed at the clarity, so it went onto the milsurp. I would not change out that scope for any other on that rifle. It is the perfect fit, and is as clear as a scope twice it's price.

Make the change.

If you're benchrest shooting at 100 yards or more you may want to keep the higher magnification scope. A clearer picture isn't going to make your target any bigger and I prefer the higher power when target shooting. Since you already have the Banner why not shoot with once or twice before dropping down to 10X from 24X. You can use it to compare the 24X to 10x as well. See if the price increase and magnification drop is worth the added clarity.

Go with an Elite I have a 6-24x40mm on my 308 bench gun and LOVE IT. If you want to know what I think reread M14sRock's post above.

i have a few banners both 6-24x40, one on a .223 rem and one on a 22-250 rem and i mean they arent the clearest scope on max power but they do the job. " dont fix whats not broken " haha i also have an Elite 3200 5-15x40 on a 338 win mag and love it. I haven't jumped on the elite 4200s yet but my next scope will be going on a 7mm STW and it will have to be a Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20x50mm LR/T M1. have $600 saved up so im half way there!:D

I use a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40 which usually run to when there is bad weather beginning during the hunt. I'm generally fond of it and likely never giving it up. :D
Get an bushy elite and you'll be happy with it no doubt man.

I took a 6-24x40mmAO I used for bench off my Howa HB .308. I replaced it w/ a Sightron 4-12x42mmAO. I really think I gained in the change. Better glass and it still can reach out there w/ no problen. I found the 6-24 got darker as increased power. I can put that Sightron on 12 and see better in low light then I ever could w/ the 6-24. I put a Sightron 6.5-20x42mmAO on my CZ527 .223. It is light years ahead of the Bushnell 4-14x40mmAO I had on it.
