Take a look at the "Burris XTR 6-24x50, then tell me how clear your 4200 is. Not knocking the 4200's, especially since the dis-continued models are on sale and I own several, but had the opportunity to shoot a friends Savage 12 something, at 1,000 yds yesterday, and this Burris impressed the hell out of me, enough that I came home and ordered one. Just a thought

Better be a real good scope for $1000. I think for that kind on dough I'd look at Zeiss or even Night Force.

If you can find me a Night Force with around 6-24x50 optics and an MOA reticle for anywhere near $1000, I'll buy one right now!

I would get the duplex in fact I did get the duplex over the mildot.

To me having a mildot does you no good if your adjustments are not mills as well.

Russ we are talking about a $500 scope and your tossing out a scope that cost twice as much.. WHY?

I would expect the Burris to be brighter clearer and better than a bushnell 6-24x40mm anyways.

As for the $1k scope I would take a Sightron SIII over that Burris and a Leupold any day of the week.

Sightron 8-32x56 SIII 30mm Riflescope
$839.95 cheaper and better.....

I was simply commenting on the suggested Burris, which is about a $1K scope. My comment was for that kind of money, I'd look to Zeiss or even Night Force.

So I hear cheap rings and mounts can make a $2000 scope perform like a $200 scope. So what combo would you punt under your Bushnell 4200
