OK, I ordered one of these for my MN M44. The instructions said that one of the pins holding the rear site on may be soldered in. If you need excessive force to punch the pin out, chances are it is. So heat is required. Well mine seems to be soldered in.
What problems can I cause by putting a torch to this thing? It has to come out of the stock so I don't set the stock on fire, but other than that, how can I avoid screwing up? Do I need to move the flame to both sides of the pin or will just heating up the entire rear part of the site loosen the solder enough?
Anyone have any experience with this? What will it take...or should I just pay someone to do it?
