Just bought a savage 93 r17 fv and am wanting to put a set of bipods on it mainly for bench shooting. Thinking bout harris's just want to hear some opinions? Thanks

I just put a Harris 6-9" swivel bipod on my Rem700 SPS Varmint 308. Haven't used it yet, will this weekend, but it looks very well built and I like the swivel option with the quick lock handle (sold separately). The leg extension latches are easy to use and lock tightly. Will let you know how it goes in a few days.

Recently bought one for my 10/22. Solid, easy to install and works great.

Harris is packaged under the Winchester name at Wal-Mart, so it's the same piece, just a little less expensive. I think I paid 30 for it...

It allows you to also keep the sling attached too...

I use rock river bipods, the 9"-15". I use one on my 300 WM and one on a .243. Great for stabilizing. I've made shots at 700 yards just laying in the bed of my pickup at targets set out across the hay fields with them. They hook on to your front sling swivel and tighten on with a bolt. Easy on easy off. I like them.

The Winchester branded bipods at Walmart are not Harris made. I have one on my 10-22 and I have several Harris, definitely NOT the same. For the price they are OK on mild recoiling rifles, but I tried one on my .308 briefly and it actually came apart after 200 rds over a weekend

It isnt a Harris at $30. There are Chinese knock offs that look identical and sell in the $30 to $40 range. The Chinese even put all the factory markings on the stuff they copy. You can see tons of their copies on ebay.

Okay, cool, good to know, I stand corrected. I didn't want to spend a ton of cash on the 10/22 as it were. It suits my needs though, thanks for the info! :)
