Nikon Action 10x40 (not Action Extreme http://www.nikon.com/products/sportoptics/lineup/binoculars/standard/vll_x40x50/index.htm ) or Simmons 12x50 ( http://bimart.com/skudetail.aspx?loc=k.609026_s.72A_c.65A_d.57&nm=Op tics )

Nikon wo a doubt. Better glass, better warranty, better guts in it, and will take alot more brutality to it.

That's what I think too...im a Nikon fan when it comes to most things. And I was all for the nikons until I realized that they aren't waterproof where as the Simmons are. And I looked through an array of Simmons and compared side by side...and these 12x50s are WAY better than any other Simmons I looked through. Clear as day whereas the others were cloudy. But again...they are Nikons. I just worry cuz they aren't waterproof.

Click the link. Nowhere in the description does it say anything about them being waterproof...but if you click the link on the left of that page for the Action Extreme the very first thing it says it that its waterproof.
