I am told that the gun is a 1000 yd gun, and at any rate, much better than I am. Also any suggestions on a std reticle, for that range, staying w/ 50mm for the light-gathering ability. Thanks. SMAR

Also note the nightforce, swarovski, most all high end scope that are able to view targets clearly an with enough zoom to shoot to 1000 yrds are anywhere from $1800 to over 2600$ but be realistic the 204 was never meant for 1000 yrds anyway its a small game round, yes its a good caliber an good to 350 but in no way is it a 1000 yrd cal, the tc is not a 1000 yrd gun either. They are good guns but are not good enough for 1000 yrd shooting.

After shopping for a good scope and getting the most bang for my buck I recently purchased a Bushnell Elite Tactical 10X40 for my AR and love it. It’s a great little scope with several features found on more expensive models, it works super in low light situations and has Bushnell’s Elite Warranty. Bought it at the Bay for $219.00 delivered, hope this helps.

A very good scope for the money is a Vortex Diamondback. The Viper HS is even better. This company is really making a hit in the optics industry. Great products and a warranty that is second to none. Give them a look.

Really impressed with my Vortex Vipers 3x9x40 and 3.5x10x50. Put one my muzzleloader and the other on my old trusty 270. Great optics and the 3x9 has held zero on my muzzleloader even loaded with 150 gr of black powder. The 3.5x10 was slightly over $320.

I put a Redfield Revolution on a Rem Model 7 and then Weatherby Vanguard S2 and have been very happy with it. It is not fancy, but the quality is there (Leopold makes them in their Oregon plant). You can pick one up for way under $200.

Were Redfield and Vortex mentioned?
Although I own a dozen or so Leupold's, the new Redfields, and my one Vortex and others I have seen from them, seem great buys for the dollar spent, with excellent warranties.
Whoops, shoulda read to the end of this thread befor posting,, oh well...
