What is the best scope under 100 dollars?

But i bought a 70$ Center Point and i can't even sight it in it has a limited range of elevation and windage adjustments
My dad bought a 300$ Nikon and it is great but a little too expensive

I just had to make a last minute purchase of a scope for my deer rifle. I wasn't going to spend no $500+ on it either. I purchased a Simmons 3-9x50mm for a whopping $55 with free shipping from Optics planet. it sighted in quick and held up to many rounds of full power 30-06 loads with zero POA shift. I would stay away from NC Star and BSA scopes. Other than that pick one and go for it.

Riflescopes $80 - $100 FREE S&H Burris Riflescopes, Bushnell Riflescopes, Leupold Riflescopes, Nikon Riflescopes, Trijicon Riflescopes.

The simmons i put on my .223 was the cause of my failing to nail my first coyote after calling him in to almost 20 yards about two years ago on a horsebacking trip to New Mexico. the reticle bounced around, it also made me think my .300 was off, but i put a Bushnell on it was pretty accurate

Your looking at Scopes for under $100. Your not going to get 500 yard .5MOA accuracy out of these scopes. You have to know the limits of it.

The Simmons replaces another simmons that was 3' low with the elevation cranked all the way up as high as it would go.

Check out Mueller they are great scopes. They are a little over $100 but well worth the money you pay for them.

My suggestion would be to save about another 50$ or so and then the possibilities will open up for a decent scope. Then you have your choice of a Nikon Prostaff 3x-9x, Weaver V9 3x-9x, or a Bushnell Elite 3200 3x-9x.

Hey Bud, check out manventureoutpost.com , they have a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40 for $156.72, Nikon Buckmaster 3-9x40 for $166.05. Take Stalkingbears advice and spend a little more and you'll get a better scope.

Default 4 hours of optics threads

I have spent the last 4 hours reading many threads pertaining to optics so I can decide what to put on a new Stevens 200 .308.I am actually more confused than when I started. I have 2 30.06s, one has a bushnell sportview 3-9 that I put on it when I purchased it (760 Rem). Ive had it for about 25 years and have shot over 20 Pa. whitetails with it and scads of woodchucks. I have not touched the scope since I zeroed it the first time. This set-up shoots 1 inch groups 1 inch high at 100 yds. and always has with factory ammo. My other .06 is a butchered 03 Springfield that I've had for about 15 years. It has a low end Tasco I put on it when I bought it. it has been to the range many times a year since I got it and shoots 1 MOA or near that consistantly on a 1 inch bull at 100 yds. and has taken woodchucks at 250 yds. and over. I had the springfield drilled and tapped and did my own mounting on both .06s. I have a sporter 303 Enfield that I made the scope mount out of a piece of 1 1/4 inch angle iron and a one piece Weaver rail and put a low end Tasco scope on last year. I first took it to the range this summer and shot consistant 1 1/2" groups with some minor adjustments from bore sighting by looking through the barrel and lining up the scope. I've shot a couple hundred rounds through it without readjusting the scope. I also have a Savage 12FV 22-250 I put a Tasco on. I have only had this gun out once but It shoots a MOA with 55gr ammo. I think it will tighten up with a lighter bullet. All this is with factory ammo. Now I'm not saying this because I wouldn't like a $1,000.00 scope, but if one of my scopes goes bad I go get a shiney new one. If I spent $500.00 on a scope every time I got a new gun I might have 2 guns. as it is I have around 30. I don't plan on shooting 1000 yds. If I could afford to go on out of state hunts, I could afford $500.00-$1000.00 scopes. As it is I have been on disability for 21 years so I do what I can with what I can afford. I know somebody will say why don't I buy fewer, better guns. The opperative word there is fewer. I have the same addiction that most in this forum have, GUNS. Going into a gun shop is like laying a sringe full of crack in front of a crack addict. I do believe more expensive equipment is better but I also status and testosterone have a lot to do with it and the value vs price are not at all proportionate. Me being a Scottsman might also have a little to do with my opinion.

My 308 wears a $500 Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x40mm. That was not the first or second scope on that rifle. My Remington wears a $500 Nikon Monarch UCC 6.5-20x42mm agin not the first scope.

My 308 started our with a very high end Leupold (high end for 50 years ago) then it had a 3-9x40mm Bushnell sportsview, then a Tasco 36x40mm, then a simmons 4-16x40mm now it wears the bushnell.

My 223 started life with a nice $150 Weaver KT-15 15x40mm then it got a $500 Leupold VX-II 6-18x40mm i traded a guy for the Nikon and I am in heaven.

I am waiting for the funds to come and when they get here I am purchasing a nice Rock River Arms Predator Pursuit Rifle this is going to have a $700 to $800 scope on it only because I have the funds for it so that is what I am getting.

The older Tasco (Made in Japan) are far superior to the now Made is China models.

You buy what you can afford and use it. I couldn't afford high end stuff a few years ago, now I can.

I see two options for you. Option A - hit the pawn shops and be willing to haggle. From what I have seen a lot of guns (especially deer rifles now that the season is wrapping up) are finding their way into hock. Option B - forget the scope and invest in some ammo and practice with the iron sights.

Default Practice?

I don't call it practice although that is a secondary result, I call it enjoyment. Im a bit of a recoil junkie. I have a Spanish Mauser 8mm that I shoot regularly, I have shot 2 MOA 10 round groups with the origional iron sights.
